Who we are

AltAround is a community-curated directory of places with quality dietary alternatives. AltAround is a brand of maximized.studio. The operator of the Service is Maximized Studio. For privacy questions, contact us at altaround@maximized.studio.

Data we collect

• Account data: Email address (for magic link / OTP sign-in), and if you set them: display name, preference profiles (names, dietary preferences, milk alternatives, icons, colors).
• Usage data: Places you add or claim, reviews you write, bookmarks and lists you create, preference profiles, and feedback you submit.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and logs from our servers and authentication provider (Supabase).

How we use it

We use your data to provide and improve the Service: to authenticate you, display your profile and content, moderate content, support you, analyze usage (e.g. via our hosting provider), and comply with legal obligations.

Third parties

We use Supabase for authentication and the database. Supabase processes account and usage data on our behalf; see their Privacy Policy. Our hosting and analytics providers (e.g. Vercel) may receive technical and usage data. Images you upload are stored via our infrastructure (e.g. Supabase storage). We do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and similar tech

We use cookies and similar technologies for session and authentication (required for sign-in), and optionally for analytics. You can manage cookies via your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may limit your ability to use the Service.

Retention

We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with law. After you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or safety reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access and receive a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Data portability
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. in the EU)

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via the Service or email where appropriate.
